Anybody using a Valentine One radar detector?
I used to have one many years ago, but noticed that it kept sending me K-band alerts on certain car's blind spot detection systems. Supposedly the latest version of this detector can filter out noise from the blind spot detection systems. Wondering if anyone had experience with this and if you had problems with blind spot detection systems including the one installed on our RX?

However, I have noticed that Acuras and some GM vehicles, especially Buicks tend to still set the V1 off. After doing some research I found ( if I remember correctly) that on some of these vehicles the BSM sensors aren't fully shielded which causes them to set off radar detectors..
In addition, I have the V1 Connection which links my phone through the V1 app via bluetooth to the V1 detector. IMO something you should look into if you keep the V1.

zero issues with escort redline always on 24/7 using adaptive cruise control, etc.
FYI! I was able to direct wire it through my rear view mirror and I also purchased a 3m mount which allowed me to mount it to the left of the safety system lasers etc where the black dots are on the windshield. This was good for privacy as it is very high up noone can see but also allows me to remove the detector if need be.

For anyone who wants a direct line for their radar detector it was very easy!
I used corrado's pictures as a guide as mine has the camera, laser, etc so it's super thick
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/nx-...ew-mirror.html
All I did was Step 4 (pop the black clip off) then Step 1 was to slide the big black covering DOWN towards the windshield, not down towards the ground. That revealed some plugs
I believe I did the black wire from the radar mount wire on the black/white wire and the red wire on the dark blue. There are 2 sets of plugs so I am hoping I am right with the colors.
Make sure you turn your car on /off so that just in case you put the plug in the wrong wiring hole. One of the holes is hot even when the engine is off so your detector will stay on 24/7 draining the battery!
I also purchased this
to apply on the black dotted portion near the upper left of the rear view mirror. It's permanent fyi.

Don't worry about it with laser. If you get a signal from the detector it's already too late. Those things are instant. I don't think it should affect any performance whatsoever.

I am using the Valentine One. I had it in my is350 and just picked up my new RX350 F-Sport but have not used it in that vehicle yet. It works amazing on my other car and don't think there will be any difference between cars. The best feature to me is the long warning times they provide. I also like the direction arrow but the warning time is better then any I have ever used and has already paid for itself.

I have a V1 in my M4 and it has been great but in my opinion you have to get the bluetooth dongle and two external apps. If you do that you can setup custom sweeps in the V1 Connection app that will really reduce the falses you will get on K band. Once the custom setup is done you wont touch the V1 Connection app because its useless in my opinion. After you setup the sweeps download V1 Driver app and that will get you GPS learning and do Savvy emulation. This app really is what helps set the detector apart to be honest because it is constantly learning to reduce falses from automatic doors in shopping centers, blind spot monitors, etc. I was torn between the Max360 and this but am happy I went this route. I am going to turn laser detection off because it does false here and there on that and bottom line is if you get hit with laser it's already too late. It NEVER falses on Ka band and that's what our state boys all use so if that goes off, I slow down and there is always a bogey. All in all its a great detector that has saved me a bunch already.

Like BB1857 I'm running the V1 with the dongle and apps including V1 Driver. Once the custom sweeps are set you will be amazed at the performance. I've been using the V1 since Mike Valentine began selling them and follow his continuous upgrade path. Highly recommended.
