Hi all. My UW RC 350 was stolen right out of my driveway in the wee hours of the night. Latest location was in NEWARK, NJ area according to credit card tracking. Yep, my wallet was in the car and they used it! Lived here for 20 years in an affluent neighborhood. My car was parked down the driveway and right next to my garage. If anyone sees a UW RC 350 with a license plate number ending in FNG driving around in Newark / Hillside, Elizabeth area please call police. Thank you!

unfortunately the key was in the car. Officer says I was probably scouted.

Sorry to hear this, hopefully your insurance co doesn't give you a hard time cause the key was left in the car..

They said no because the car was on my property and was likely scouted. Another reason not to have folding mirrors! Apparently car thieves look for certain models that are parked at the end of driveways or on the street that have the auto fold side mirrors when locked.

This is a fairly long driveway in a very private residence so someone was like watching beforehand.

Why folding mirrors? I guess you don't have the find my car app?

Apparently unfolded mirrors on vehicles that automatically fold their mirror when locked is an indication that the car is unlocked. Luckily the RC doesn't have that option. Also thieves often scout and can see that lights don't flash when exiting the car.

Just shocked that it would happen here. Anything's possible I guess.

I didn't purchase the subscription after the first year. Lexus said that have no way of tracking the car otherwise. The Enform has to be reactivated from WITHIN the vehicle! Crazy for a car that has GPS location capability.

keyless cars won't lock if the key is inside, so one has to wonder why you would leave the keys in the vehicle while the vehicle is outside.

Sucks but I guess thats what insurance is for. I wonder if this car will end up being exported as I know that was a big thing before in that area, but the fact that they used your card is kind of telling me otherwise. Hope you get it figured out

The folding mirrors rationale doesn't really make sense since everyone should lock their car when it's parked outside (whether on their driveway or in public). I never understood why people leave their key in the car either...making it way too easy for theives.

Sorry this happened to you. I hope someone spots your car on the road. It's times like this when the Enform Remote subscription is really worth the $249.90 fee.

I don't even leave my car unlocked in the garage... But if I do then I get alerts on my phone, which is one reason I always lock it. But I've never purposely left my keys in any car I've ever owned. If it was a gun left unlocked... I can only imagine what your insurance company is going to do to your rates.

Download the Lexus App to see its location and you can sound alarm, lock, etc. Lexus can help lol
