I can see some custom settings like (door locks, lights, etc) but I can't highlight them to change them. Are all these type settings dealer only or should I be able to change some of this myself?

My Lexus dealer sent me the attached file so I can fill it out and bring it with me when it's time for my 6 month service. At that time, they will perform a one time customization without cost. It also details what can be changed by the user and the dealer.

Well I didn't get mine from a lexus dealer so I guess they won't be doing that for me unless I pay them. From the PDF it looks like I should be able to change some things like door locks, etc. Maybe I am doing something wrong. Just trying to get some feedback from someone who has changed these settings on the RC350 Fsport.

You should be able to customize the first 15 settings on the list with the instructions on page 1. The rest you will need to go to the dealer or get something like Carista. What exactly are you trying to customize?

One more thing, make sure your car is in park when you're doing this. When the car is moving, I believe you cannot change them.

Just for your reference, you can change the "dealer-only" settings, plus some more, with the Carista app and adapter. Below is a sample list for what's changeable via Carista on a customer's 2015 RC-F. The price is $39.99 for the adapter (which gets you a 1-month free trial of the app), and then $39.99/year for the Pro features in the app (or alternatively, get a 1-week pass at $9.99 whenever you need it, without a subscription). In my opinion, much more convenient and cheaper than going to the dealer.

Found my RC has to be started before I could get to those menus. I was able to get into and play with all the settings accept the dealer only ones. Still exploring my RC as I bought it used and I new more about the car than the salesman. All info and tips are welcomed.

Carista, do you think you can add the Remote Start feature options like Keep Engine Running after opening doors when key is in range? I like this feature on Viper Smart Start on my non-lexus car. The car will only shut down if after 10mins key is not inserted or key not found while pressing the brake pedal to change Parking Gear to Drive Gear, etc. I want to start the car in advance to warm up the engine, cool down or warm up the interior then, unlock doors, enter the vehicle within 10mins and drive if key is detected within range of 3-5 ft.

I haven't experimented with this myself, but as far as I know, the engine keeps running even if the key is not within range. It's just that it can't be started that way. Or am I mistaken?

The engine keeps running even when the key is in range. But the problem is that the engine shuts down when you open the door. On my Viper Smart Start, remote start the car, you unlock/disarm the alarm, open the door, put in the key, turn ignition to on position, press brake pedal, change Park gear to Drive gear and you're good.

Does anyone know what the following setting (from the list of settings specified above) is?

I have Carista, but cannot find anything that indicates what this setting actually does.

Also I would appreciate if anyone could chime in if they know of the setting(s) to change the following:
1. Default the speed/info display to be moved over to the right without having to press the button every time you start the car? It currently defaults to the center and I prefer the other display
2. Default the main display to the home screen. I don't use my built in GPS because Waze on my phone is better (extremely accurate with maps, traffic, police, accidents etc.) and because Waze frequently updates the maps at no charge. The main display "likes" to default to the GPS or radio settings, but I really don't need either and would rather have the home screen with my customized displays without having to press the home button every time I start the car.

Any help would be appreciated!

This was very useful...didn't even know it was possible to control windows/sunroof with the remote. Is there any option for the auto start to not shut off when you unlock or open any doors to the car once started?

I will second CARISTA. I bought it and customized the settings on my RCF and my wife's Camry.

I've had the CARISTA app for a little over 2 years now and love it. The remote start will only work if you have a paid subscription to Lexus Enform Safety & Connect.

I'll buy if I can make it so the engine doesn't shut off when I open the door when I start it from afar. Makes no sense.
