Default Thermostat Housing Bolt Torque

I am replacing the thermostat (car is slow to warm-up and running a little cooler than normal) on my 2004 RX330.

My Haynes manual says 8 NM / 71 in-lbs for the torque on the thermostat housing bolts, can anyone confirm these values with a factory shop manual?

Thanks, Joe

Your specs are fine, try not to overthink the torque, though it be important. 71 inch pounds or around 6 ft lbs of torque is good. I have replaced that exact housing and had no issues.

Thanks. I torqued it to the value in the Haynes manual and it felt right. No leaks on start-up.

After I was done I was able to confirm that is the correct value.

Aloha, Joe
