Default Temperature Unit Conversion

I recently got a 2016 Lexus IS300 imported from Canada and was wondering is there a way to change the temperature units from celsius to fahrenheit. Thank You!

I recall that it can be changed through Carista but otherwise I think the dealer has to do it.

I believe the temperature unit is not configurable in that car, but I might be wrong. I also depends on the market and specific model. Just to give you some more context on Carista, it's a mobile app with which you can change your "dealer-only" settings straight from your smartphone or tablet (Android or iPhone/iPad). All you need is the app and a hardware dongle (OBD adapter) that plugs into the car's diagnostic port under the dash and communicates with the app wirelessly. More info at www.caristaapp.com

Here's a sample list of customizations you can make to the 3rd-gen Lexus IS (based on a sample from another customer; your settings may vary):

You Americans and your crazy units :P

Congrats on the car! You'll love it, I'm sure.

Keep the metric system, don't convert!

On a real note, Jeff Lange (the moderator), has mentioned that the temperature unit is not changeable because it is part of the HVAC system if I recall. It will essentially will need to be replaced a US one which will likely cost an arm and a leg.

That's surprising to me. I was just making changes with Carista on my parent's RAV4 and saw that in there as an option, so I assumed it was the same with the IS. Sorry for my incorrect information.

Yeah, I would agree that it should be an option on all cars since it is something simple. Even I wonder why it is not on all cars.
