Default Shifter not in proper position on cluster when cold, Mounts?

I have this problem on my 97 where when its cold and warming up, the shift indicator (PRND32L) doesn't want to illuminate on the cluster until the car is pretty much warm.

When doing this, the cruise control won't engage and during this time, sometimes I get a P0770 Shift Lockup solenoid light come on, even though the lockup function works when in 4th gear.

I was talking to another local guy obsessed with LS400s and he's thinking that my motor mounts being worn or possibly even torn and broken can cause the transmission to be off just a little bit causing the gear selector to not fully engage Drive.

I know my tranny mount was replaced by the previous owner just before i purchased about a year ago and 25k, but i'm unsure about the motor mounts. I do get a big shift in the engine when shifting from Reverse to Drive.

Can motor mounts cause the transmission gear selector to be out of alignment causing this?

Also, are aftermarket parts stores mounts an acceptable alternative? I don't have a lot of money to afford Lexus OE ones from the dealer. Will I notice a big difference in quality if using these?

I did find this thread though, would this be related?
