Code 13....I used the search, please help
Hey guys, new to club lexus. I just bought a 1993 sc400 and i have a code 13 and some hesitation around 2000rpm. I replaced the cam shaft sensor as discussed on the forum but the light and issue hasnt gone away. The wire on the old sensor was cut so I was almost positive a new one would fix it...any thoughs on where I should go from here?

Just a quick update...my driver side cam sensor was replaced but i looked at the one on the passenger side and the wires are completely gone past the sensors ground strap! Now I have to figure out how im going to wire it up with no harness once I get a new sensor...anyone else have this problem? any tips appreciated

the wire for the passenger side cam sensor got caught in the timing belt and ripped it out completely. My concern is that if i wire in a new ire, it has to be grounded i belive because the two cam sensor wires are wrapped in bare stranded wire around the two wire to the sensor. i need over a foot of wire because the timing belt ripped the wire out completely from the wire loom. If only i had a spare engine harness...anyways thats my thoughts, im new to the car so let me know if you all think that is a good idea or have a suggestion, thanks

ok I have a good update, I found where the wire was ripped out and I can solder it to the new harness pigtail I ordered. Interestingly enough the passenger side cam sensor is NOT wrapped with the stranded grounding wire...no engineer but this is probably because there are no other wires around it to interfere with the cam sensor signal thus no need for a grounding wrap. The wire is 14 gauge and I will just pick some up tomorrow....I just need to buy all of the covers for the timing belt so this doesnt happen again.

Thanks for the help guys, going to solder the wires together this weekend. The good thing is that the passenger side doesnt have shielded...I ordered some 20 and 22 gauge stranded wire....going to see if that works, i live 70 miles from civilization so i have to order things like that haha
