My nx has low mpg problem. Any Suggestion?
I have owned the 2016 nx200t f sport AWD for 3 weeks and mpg is still around 20.3 mpg, which I believe there is something wrong with it. I drive my car 80% in city and 20% in highway and mostly in normal mode. I have driven for nearly 600 miles.
According to the Lexus, it should be 21 city and 28 highway. But mine seems still away from the standard
Any suggestions? Thank you so much!
Update:
Last weekend I drove my car for a road trip around 300 miles. I reset the mpg when I started off the trip but even on highway I got average only 23.7 mpg, which is disappointing. However, after I came back and drove in the city, it gave me 23.0 mpg average after resetting which seems better compared to the previous data.
Hope it will get better with more mileages putting on my lexus.
Update:
I think I got the reason why I had low mpg. I checked tire pressure in the cold and it appeared to be only 27, even after highway drive it can only reach 31. I went to the dealer to adjust to 36 in cold and gave the car a test drive and it surprising went to 27.2mpg with 80% highway and 20%city driving.

Have you reset the MPGs since you owned it? We've had ours for three weeks as well. When we got it there were 31 miles on the odometer and showed an average mpg of around 13. During the first week it was moving up slowly to around 16 mpg. After the reset it went right to 21 mpg all city driving. I suspect that the first 31 miles was mostly stop and go during test drives and a lot of idle time which was keeping the average down. Larry G.

Look on the bright side, its a great engine. The hybrid would have just been plain disappointing.

It's not easy to achieve EPA rated mpg in normal driving conditions. There are many factors that will affect fuel economy, such as road surface, headwind, altitude, fuel quality, extra weight that your'e carrying, tire pressure, rain, etc.
20,3 mpg with 80% city isn't too far off from 21 mpg in my opinion.
NX is not particularly fuel sucking, X3 with a 2L is about the same, and a Land Rover Discovery is even worse.

Yeah, I am kind of thinking like this right now. It is 2.0 L turbo plus awd and should be 1 mpg less than the EPA I guess. Just thinking if it will be better after I run car for thousand miles.

I've put over 4,000 miles on our 2016 Nx200t and have gotten just over 25 mpg. That's total miles divided by total gallons consumed. I never trust the on-board calculations. Highway/local split is probably 70/30. Only use premium fuel. Also, I'm probably a gentler driver than average (unlike in my younger years!) It is AWD.

I've mentioned this in the other thread about MPG. I reset the meter after gas and drove Eco mode whole way from NJ to Lake George, NY with massive traffic stop and go. When I got to my destination, the MPG read 27.9. I have an FSport AWD.

Well said. And with colder temps starting and freezing temps around the corner, expect a dip in MPGs until spring where you should see it slightly better.

One other thing to add looks like the OP is in Michigan, maybe they switched over to the Winter Blend fuels. Not sure if MI uses that or not, but I know IL does and it sucks when they switch because MPGs drop for sure.
