Squeaky rattle near center air vents
I have a 2011 Lexus is350 fsport....It's driving me nuts!!!! Any clue why does the center air vent rattles or creaks when the dashboard it pressed on or the car body flexes?... seems like the top part of the dash is not properly in place. Does it fall in that warranty dashboard replacement? Also there a rattle going over bumps...you hear it coming from either underneath dash or steering wheel area. Hmmmmmmm? Any suggestions. Thanks.

What you are experiencing is probably that a piece of deadening material moved or has been worn out. Here is a great video on how to deal with that kind of problem. If your at all handy you should be able to fix this.

I have a Is250 2007. Facing same problem and trying to fix it for a week now. Few times dissassembled center vents and all the center console. Used special tape on same places and no effect. The center vents are two sepatate vents connected between each other with small plastic part. I used tape between that two plastics and it is so much better now but still hear some cracks and sqeaks. I can post some pictures here...

Was it similar to this? Im not even sure if you can really hear it, but I had this problem a couple years back when I first got my Lexus.
I drove around with a tech for a good 30 minutes before I could even replicate the sound, but he figured it out. You can check the same spot. I almost took my vent out because I thought that's where it was, but my problem was that part that hangs above the tachometer, the underside of the dash just to the left of the left center vent, there was a creek. I guess in cold temps (since things shrink, i assume?) it would cause a creeky/rattle sound when i would hit bumps or drive on non-smooth roads.
I was under warranty, so Lexus service said they just added some material/insulated that part so it didn't move. Hope this helps!

Guys, attached photos of partial help on this..
Practically, al we need to do is to find out what is causing the sound and insulate it. I fixed one cause of noises on attached photos. I think there is 1 left to fix it permanently. But I am not able to find out what it is.

Great info guys! I have the similar rattle as posted on the vent video. As soon as I get a chance I will check it out. @Mrfix felt tape or foam will do the job and get rid of the rattles. Pretty easy to do just finding them is the problem. Will update soon
