Default RX 350 F Sport AWD Questions

hey everyone. just returned our 14' RX for the new 2016 RX 350 F Sport. been searching and i did find one person who had driven their fsport in the snow and i also saw a video with the reviewer taking the car through the snow but just wanted some other experiences and info on the all wheel drive capability. is there a max speed you can take the vehicle when the AWD mode is selected? will i still need chains if i'm taking the car to areas with snow?

for those in california as reference, we plan to take a trip to Big Bear in December and just wondering if we'll need chains or not or if the AWD is capable on its own. thanks for your help.

Regarding tire chains and the law in California, it depends on how severe the snow is. Generally, if Read this:

Don't forget AWD is different than 4WD

We get tons of snow every year and I always run snow tires regardless of 4WD or AWD. I have the same RX F sport and would not trust the 20" tires to get me thru any moderate amount of snow or slush. Not to mention the capabilities of the stock tires below 0 C or 32 F. Gets pretty cold here some months and the all-seasons are not very good.
