Default Anyone Run the Magnaflow OEM Exhaust Manifolds?

Hey everyone both of my exhaust manifolds have the cracks at the bend coming out of the engine. Toyota oem is $712 per side roughly and without gaskets. I have looked into the Pacesetters and not interested in lower grade companies. My search to find someone running the Magna flow manifolds pulled up nothing. They make a couple different models. Anyone run them?

I am curious as well. Would this provide more power and a louder sound?

I have not but everything they produce that I have had experience with has been great quality. I wouldn't hesitate to use their product. They have a great reputation across the internet both foreign and domestic.

I too, wish someone would chime in with their experience on these manifolds. I am at 95k and my car sounds more and more like an old dump truck in the mornings everyday. The amount of work involved makes me want to stay away from the OEM, as I plan to put a million miles on this rig, but it always makes you feel better to have the internet support your decision .

I would also wonder if anyone has used an epoxy to maybe fill in a small hairline crack this?

I used something similar for a "beater" car that had a cracked manifold and it actually worked.

It would be a lot less work than installing two new exhaust manifolds.

All of the crack photos that I've seen were under the flange, so you wouldn't really have access.. without removing. I've yet to see an economical solution to the problem..

The exhaust manifold will get hot.. well above 450 degrees.

Has no one had the stockers welded up?

Yes, there have been a number of manifolds welded. I've also seen several complain about one of their other cylinders leaking a year-ish after the one is repaired. IMO there is too much work involved in the removal/installation for me to want to apply a patch.

I am going to listen to my manifold leak until it becomes constant or drives me crazy. It looks like you can get the Maganaflow manifolds (50740 and 50741) for the earlier year models without SAIS for $720 out the door on Jet (using a 15% first time buyer discount). Combine that price with an SIAS bypass kit for $150 and the manifolds start to look more affordable and easier to install.

I would assume Magnaflow would be of better quality than some of the cheaper OEM replacement options out there. Hopefully someone on here will be the guinea pig and let us know for sure!

Can you explain what an SAIS bypass kit is?

The kit will bypass the Secondary Air Induction System that is prone to failure (spendy) and attaches to the tubes at the top of the factory manifolds and physically blocks access to the mounting hardware. If you look at the non-VVTI headers and compare them to the VVTI models you will see the tube that I mentioned and the access comment will probably make more sense.

*I'm not sure about posting links on here, but you can google Hewitt SAIS Bypass and it will bring up the site.

Default Oem

hey guys I may make a run at these soon. Just need to look at spreading out the cost of parts and install labor, don't want to take this install on myself.

I just searched for Magnaflow 50740 ($367.53) and then Magnaflow 50741 ($474.01). Keep us posted and good luck, Goosed!
