Default How Rare is this SC300?

1997 SC300 5-speed with 15K miles? I believe this color was only made in 97 as well, but could be wrong.

That is an especially rare 1997 5 speed with what looks like the factory two tone and exterior color. nice score for sure!! 15k miles is practically new.

dang ... 15k miles ! If you don't mind me asking , how much did you pay for that very low mileage 1 of 120 ? PM me if you don't feel like saying it publicly .

Check the following thread :

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sc-...s-them-44.html

Give me the info and I would add it to the list .

I actually didn't buy it. Just saw it online yesterday and have been toying with the idea. They're asking $15k.

Did you get its VIN and checked its carfax and autocheck history if everything checks out ?

Assuming that mileage is authentic , if the car was regularly started / warmed up even if it was just on the garage or driveway , seems to be a good buy. I am just leery about cars that old and with little mileage and have sat for a long time without being warmed up regularly .

Ali - that is the floor mat that is darker in color . What I have from the salvage cars I just got with almost new interiors has same floor mats... more of light brownish rather than beige like the carpet.

The car has a clean title and seems like it has been in southern California its entire life. I didn't run a car fax, but I looked up the title status and checked for smog records. The VIN is JT8CD32Z9V0037522if you want to look for the car.

The floor mats are usually brown, but when they sit out in the california sun with untinted windows they start turning a redish brown color.

That color alone is especially rare, I believe it was called Shadow Rose Quartz, and is almost as desirable as RSP in my mind. And as a 5-speed, it's probably only one of 2 if that, not to mention the two tone interior.
Where is it for sale?

It is Shadow Rose Quartz (3k7). It's more prominent on the ES300 and less on the SC and LS but it's an awesome color.

Was the 2-tone interior actually offered from the factory, or is that a swap?

The floor mat looks normal to me, with vacuum marks or something like you'd get when mowing patterns into a baseball field.

It was a factory option. I think it is the most common on 97's, but I have seen it on a few 98's.

Ya learn something new every day. I wonder if that was a popular option at the time? Obviously limited production, but that's not the same as popularity. In hindsight, they would have flown off the showroom floors relative to the standard interiors.

Staying on topic (of rare SC300s), there's a 358k mile '99 for sale nearby. At a dealership, amazingly.

That's a rare sc300 and I love the color too!!! Is the center console trim around the radio has been painted black?
Make sure the vin# is manual too if you're thinking about buying it and take a pic of the engine, sheet for 15k this should be A show room engine bay as well.
so let me get this straight this car only have had a hand full of oil changes if that?

Beauty!!
