Default front end popping/clicking

Hello everyone. I have a 2011 LS460 w/ 77,861 miles on it that I bought back in March. I have been hearing a popping/clicking noise when I turn the wheel. It's not always present but it is at it's loudest after the car has been parked for a while. I also hear it more when I am turning the wheel in reverse. I took it to the dealership (2 yr/unlimited mile warranty) and they kept it for a week and found inner tie rod end loose, replaced the power steering rack and adjusted front toe. Well two days later after getting my car back, I heard the noise again. Before I take it back to the dealership (and possibly lose it), what do you guys think it may be? I have always highly appreciated your input. Thank you.

I had this problem compounded with drifting steering during bumps and at low speed turning. Changed out the control arms (all were worn out) and clicking stopped (along with all the other problems).

Is it AWD? Sounds like a CV joint.

Should control arms be worn out under 78,000 miles?

This thread is a puzzlement because 11's were not implicated in the TSB below:

The symptoms in the description sound familiar, and they led to replacement of 8-arms at 60k miles. However, the situation can't be 100% diagnosed over the net. Fortunately, you have an active warranty. A diagnosis and a deductible should be the extent of the inconvenience.

Be well, let us know how you work things out

Had same problem and it turned out the front wheel bearings were bad and needed new hub assemblies. Would click repeadedly when wheels were turned left / right and rolling slowly as mentioned. Both were replaced and covered under my warranty at the time. Thought they were going to stick me with the bill because I have aftermarket 22 inch wheels but they gave me no problems. Best of luck

The control arms on our cars are notorious for having issues and you would notice the issue more going over bumps when hearing a little clunking noise. From what you are describing as the wheels are turning left and right you hear a clicking noise. The noise did also seem louder during initial cold startups ( or car was sitting for awhile) but was always present in my situation. As mentioned problem went away after they replaced both front wheel hub bearing assemblies.

OEM hub assemblies are around $325 each or you can source aftermarket rock auto ones for around $200-$240 each side. Depends on brand etc. Then you will have to factor in install if you are not doing the job yourself. Hope it helps

There are members here who have replaced their bearings for a fraction of dealer price. FYI.
