Default Would Seatbelts from a 1996 LS fit on a 1997 LS

My seatbelt buckle (part that's on the belt) on the D/S of my 97 LS is broken, I think the previous owner slammed the door on it due to the belt not retracting quickly enough.

I found a tan set off a 1996 LS400 in the JY that I was going to clean up and install but before I do that and take my car apart, would these two belts be compatible?

My 97 has side airbags, but I was able to put a tan leather driver's seat from a 96 a couple months back with no problems. I just removed the side airbag bulb from the cluster to get rid of the light.

So i just need to know if the belts from a 96 would fit on a 97.

Also, I removed the 1996 ones from the JY but forgot to flip that lever upward before removing. Now the belt feels like its locked in place and I can't get it to pull out or unwind.

If i plug that connector in, will it unwind so i can attempt to install it? Or have I ruined this belt by having it wind up beyond a certain point?

SHOULD be fine. Changes were made to the seats but not he belts. You really should check part numbers, I don't have the time for that at the moment.

I have 93 Accord coupe that I was able to get brand new seat belts installed in the front at zero cost back in 2011, including labor, so I tried doing the same with this LS400.

I called Lexus customer care and filed a concern with my retractors not pulling the belt in on the front two seat belts. They instructed me to go to a dealer and have an inspection done, so since the nearest dealer was only 2 blocks up the road, I went for an inspection and 30 min later, they took all the photos needed and made a repair request to Lexus.

We'll see what happens, I'm hoping they'll come through like Honda did and replace the belts but since my D/S buckle on the belt was broken, I might not be so lucky. Worst case scenario, i'll just install the tan D/S belt I removed off that 96 LS in the JY that cost me 10 bucks on half off day. I got a bucket and filled it up with water and laundry detergent and submerged the belt in the water for about an hour, you wouldn't believe how dirty the water was after doing this. Let it dry all day with a clip on the belt so it wouldn't rewind and it amazingly rewinds like new.

The only bad part is the service guy said the replacement belts they have come in black. So, I may not want to add those odd ***** in.
