There is no way for you to install navigation on the base car. There would be too much hardware that would need to be installed, such as GPS antenna, SD card reader for maps, Remote Touch controller, etc. It would not be cost effective. Also, dealers will not help in ordering and installing parts.

Should've just ordered the car with the equipment/features you wanted. Carmakers don't allow add on of major features that require hardware like navigation and safety systems.

At that cost most people dont want to do it. If you feel thats not an issue, then by all means. Get the parts list, and then go from there. I suspect the base screen would be comparable, but new controller, and navi hardware, as well as coding.

TBH you are not missing out on much, and probably better off using the fixed controller in your car. Just plug in any old smartphone with Waze or the latest Google Maps, and your going to be so far ahead of what the Lexus unit coudl ever offer

Did the sales or service department tell you that?

Not really surprised that the salesperson said that...some will say anything to close a sale. You'll probably find out that the service department won't fulfill that request.

The Scout GPS Link is only for the 2017+MY RX350. There might be some new hardware involved, but Lexus isn't very supportive of upgrading/updating software to the newest systems, so you probably won't be able to get navigation for your car. It's their way of getting customers to constantly move into new cars. Not to mention, Scout GPS Link doesn't seem to be doing very well...look at the terrible app reviews. You're better off using Waze or Google Maps on your phone, mounting your phone in a visible spot, and routing the audio through Bluetooth or USB.

Hello!

Open your maps app such as google or Apple maps.

Input the destination and press start and you are good to go.

Just make sure the phone is linked to your bluetooth system on your car!!!

If not, it will play from the speakers.

Congrats on your purchase and you can do it! I have NAVI and haven't used it once .

Question 2018 Rx Navigation

I bought an RX 2018 without the navigation system. My car has the panorama screen but the viewing area is framed off within the screen and therefore, is smaller because I do not have the navi system. The viewing area is just for the radio, climate, etc. The panorama screen in this car seems to have a frame inside it to maintain the small viewing area. Can I add a navigation system to this car? If so, can I use the entire panorama screen viewing area? Is this something the Lexus dealer can do or another type of car tech installer?

I don't have any idea what it would cost, but if I had to guess....horrendously expensive. Why not just use your phone? From what I've read on this site, a phone app works better than the nav anyway. If that's no good, Costco will sell you a Garmin for a hundred bucks or so that works just fine. That's what I do.
