Default ES 350 2016 Remote start

Hello Lexonians,

Do we have remote start on these cars? Some of the posts suggest we do, but the salesman said nothing to me.

I've had the car about a month now. It's a 2016 ES 350.

Thanks fellow travelers along life's smooth highway (well, hopefully),

J. Loftus

While all of the 2016 ES vehicles come with a remote start as standard equipment, it does require an active Enform subscription to be able to use it. So, after the Enform trial period ends, you will either have to buy a subscription, or you will not be able to continue to use the remote start.

You will still be able to remote start the Lexus ES using the key fob. The only thing needing the subscription is Lexus Enform Remote (which allows you to access vehicle info, start the car, etc. via the Enform Remote app). Also, the 2016 Lexus ES only has the remote start on the ES with Navigation.

Others with a 2016 ES will have to chime in, but there have been a couple of other threads on this board that have discussed the remote start and how it has changed from the 2013 model year to the 2016 model year, and, in those threads, owners of 2016 ES vehicles have reported that, without an active Enform subscription, the remote start is completely disabled, including remote start via the fob.

Indeed it does. It does appear that many others have stated that the subscription to Enform is needed, but apparently (hopefully) you would at least be able to use the remote start during the Vehicle's Enform 1 year trial period. Probably after that, you would indeed need to cough up the money
to continue the subscription.

You are right. Just checked and it does require the Enform Remote subscription for 2016.
