Did you trade the LS? Very nice!

I drove one that looked just like that a couple weeks ago.

Nice! The Land Cruiser is probably the only other Lexus I could see switching to from an LS, but I'm not a truck person. Looks awesome.

it's def a baller truck that will run forever no doubt. I think 'reliable Range Rover'. But I'm not a truck guy either, even though we use a RX350 as a kid hauler (1 & 3yr olds) it's certainly not my daily!

I looked at those before buying my LS. I have a buddy with a new Land Cruiser and they're sweet. However I didn't want to spend $85k on a new one, so was looking at used LX570's. Just couldn't wrap my head around $40k for a rig with 60-70k miles on it though. Plus the back seat comfor doesn't come close to the LS.

They ride really good, but from my test drive I thought it was heavy and cumbersome feeling to drive around every day, and to my surprise they aren't finished as well as the LS, material quality in the interior is a notable step down (hard plastics on the lower dash, to the left of the steering wheel, lower door panels, etc), doors don't shut with as solid a thunk....I park in an underground garage at work and routinely park in garages downtown throughout the day, and maneuvering the LS is challenging enough lol.

Very nice truck though. I'd love to have one to drive on trips, not so sure I'd want one over the LS to drive every day, but I love a big SUV for trips. I've seriously considered a big luxury SUV the last couple times I've bought, especially before I got the LS. With the Jeep gone I miss having an SUV in the family, and the tax benefits of buying a big SUV are huge for me ($90K write-off in the first year basically, so the think is like 1/2 price)...but I really think I would miss the car day in and day out. My business partner just bought a JGC for the same tax purpose and gave his fiancé' his leased 2015 GS and he misses the car day in and day out.

Man I love you guys! Always so supportive and congenial!!!
I couldn't help but post this, but the joke has ran it's course.
The LX is only a loaner, as I dropped my LS off to have a few things looked at by a reputable, established Lexus dealership.
I guess I'm not accustomed to great service off the bat, as the dealership near my home needs to be shut down.
While a few weeks ago at my local dealer, my wife and I wanted to simply "see" an LX, a salesman told me "we just don't keep those on our lot", to today, and hour and 20 minutes away, the have a '16 LX as a loaner.
You guys are dead on though. It's a great truck, but Steve, you hit it dead on. At this price point, I was expecting the refinement to be on par with the LS and even above in some aspects, but it's just not there. How does this thing NOT have soft close doors? Or simply the over all feel of an LS? I have an older LS and have driven a 2015 LS, and though it's a sedan vs an SUV, it's still Lexus and there is a craftsmanship difference. The drivetrane in city driving though not horrible, wasnt exactly smooth and graceful either. This thing drives incredibly heavy. But on the highway, it's a great joy to drive.
It does remind me though, how much I do miss driving a larger SUV. They just feel awesome, commanding and they wreak masculinity. I'll always have a soft spot for larger SUV's!
I hope all can forgive my attempt at a joke! But indeed, the LX is a really nice truck. However, for the price point, brand new, even if I had the money, I couldn't justify the purchase.

I wasn't buying it for a minute. I kept coming back to this page to see an update/April Fools/ETC. I know how much you love that LS my friend. LOL.

That sure is a nicer loaner than my wife got on her CT200. It's a 2016 Corolla S. Not a bad car though.

Haha, what made me wonder was the "great deal" even used 2016 LXs are about what new ones cost LOL

Nice loaner!

I'm a former RX350 owner too, they may be boring but they are so darn convenient if you are hauling around kids and their stuff.

For sure. And I'll take boring and reliable over "engaging and exciting but always in the shop"....

***UPDATE***

So, I've had this LX 570 since early Friday afternoon and have driven it about 350+ miles, and I. Have to say that I absolutely love this SUV. Now granted, for the price point, there should definitely be more leather, metal finishes and a few more items that could be motorized. I could go on a little bit, but I really just wanted to touch on the statement I made regarding its city driving capabilities. It's just a very, very smooth, nice ride. It's incredibly comfortable for something that is so large, the braking is very linear and smooth. One thing though, and it's an ergonomic issue to/for me, is that the handle on the door is oriented in a way that it somewhat blocks the part of the pannel where the window rocker buttons are.
I see why caha14 has an LS and an LX in the garage. I really do t see what vehicle tandem would be much better!
I am now officially an LX fan!
