What next? Steering wheel wobble when braking
I've had this LS 430 for about 2500 miles now and I knew it needed some brake work. The shimmy and shake on the interstate told me it definitely needed rotors. So, I went and purchased new pads at Lexus for 74.95 and had the rotors machined. The mechanic said my hub was at the maximum allowance but was in spec for factory standards. After the tune up, new coolant, fuel system service and pad and rotor work I get in the interstate.. 65mph and apply brakes... Same thing!!! Wobble wobble and steering wheel bounce and shake.. What do I need to do to get some smooth brakes!? Ideas?

That's what I did. The aftermarket rotors/pads were 200 bucks delivered to my door. It took me the better part of a morning to do the brakes on the car, and my problems were taken care of...

I have the same issue in my 2001 with 225,000 for quite a while now, I just haven't had the time to look into it. I believe I have a steering issue, lower control arm bushing or something of that nature (tie rod), something somewhere is worn and loose is my thoughts. This last time I had my tires rotated (running Michelin Primacy no abnormal tire wear) it also seemed to help but I still have the issue, telling me I still have another issue. Already been through brakes. It's been on my list to look at for a sometime now, just not enough hours in the day... Will post back when I have a chance to look into it...

I agree it might be front end issues with that kind of mileage.Another reason to have an honest loyal shop that tells you what you need to know rather than guessing.

Prob rotors.. Get new ones and know that ceramics will eat them.
You should definitely check the brakes periodically. I heard a creaking from the rear end and thought it was my new swaybar setup...
NOPE- the pin that keeps the brake pads in tight had wiggled half way out because the cotter pin disappeared! Kinda not cool! Gotta install cotter pin with top end inside the caliper cove.. You'd know if you looked. I just installed the brake kit on all calipers.. Its cheap lime $8 per wheel and should be done atleast a few times during the life of the car.
