Default 2014 LS App Update

I recently registered on Lexus Enform site and downloaded the app to my smartphone. I opened the Apps folder on my nav screen and I get the following sequence of screens, where the Apps fail to update after reaching 39%. I am not able to bypass the update screen to just look at the Apps menu. This has happened several times now.

My smartphone is in the car, and the Enform app is open as all of this is going on. I am guessing the car is updating its Apps menu by using the BT connection to my smartphone since I don't have satellite subscription. What am I doing wrong? I have a service visit tomorrow and the dealer may take care of it, but I am curious to figure this out myself.

At the dealership today, the Apps updated up to 87% then stopped. No logical explanation.
The tech guy suggested that I should delete my smartphone from the vehicle computer, re-install Enform on my smartphone, re-link phone to vehicle, open Enform and update Apps. Will try it over the weekend. Let's see if that works.

Well, the Apps just work thru Lexus Enform suite, and is a precursor to Apple Carplay and Android Auto. If you download the Enform suite, the Apps should work fine in HI, why not?

So, I followed the Master Tech's advice, and the App updated fine and I am good to go

The simple answer is in Hawaii the owners of the Toyota/Lexus franchise deal directly with Toyota Motors in Japan and TM in the USA. Because they circumvent the national distributor we are kept off the technology support since that's done by TM USA. Downloading the app is useless for both my Lexus and my new Tacoma. It's very sad and frustrating for us. It's all VIN driven and TM USA knows which car is on the "restricted" list. It's not that we don't have access either. If I were to buy a head unit from any vehicle in the mainland it would surely fire right up as that's what my friend just did for his Tacoma.

Oh, the hardships you have to put up with to live in Hawaii

You have no idea, constantly having to worry about sunburn, salt in my hair from the seabreeze tradewinds, always having to wear sunglasses to protect my eyes from the sun glistening off of the crashing waves. The struggle is real....
