Default Video comparo - stock exhaust vs JoeZ exhaust

I decided to go with the JoeZ exhaust on my car because I knew it would fit with the TVD. I shot a before and after video on my iPhone to give you guys an idea of the sound difference between stock and JoeZ. The car sounds better in person than on the video but since there's a before and after clip, at least it's apples to apples.

Definitely sounds alot better, it may be just me but it seems like the tubes are hanging a lil' lower than the stock ones (maybe it's just the angle of the pic) if they are just get you some Rear Diffusers & you couldn't even see them. Only other thing i'd do is paint the mufflers black so they're not so noticeable. Sounds Great though! jmo

Good vids. A few members painted the mufflers black to keep the stock look including myself. Looks good either way though.

Looks so much better painted! Only thing is I wish it came with oval tips. Great sounding exhaust for sure and it was my second choice over my current exhaust.

My wife said the same thing about the mufflers not being black; I can live with it either way although I wish the tips matched the stock tips.

For the guys that painted the mufflers: did you do it post-install? If not, did you use a rattle can of high-temp paint or a brush-on can?

I used high temp black spray paint when mufflers weren't installed yet. As you can see below, I only painted the rear face of the muffler cans.

Going to be very difficult to get it nicely covered black when it is on the car and you really don't want the over-spray everywhere. Since it is already installed, better to go with brush on if you are leaving it on the car. Just make sure it is thoroughly dried before you get those mufflers hot. Good luck!

^^^^what he said, you really don't need to paint the whole muffler just the end of them cause that's the only part you see from behind. & i also agree about the oval tips looking better! jmo

JoeZ adds the extra smooth growl without going over the top. Very refined and well suited to this car. Enjoy!

I pulled the axle back parts (the mufflers) of the Joe Z exhaust and then it's a simple job to spray paint the whole muffler or however you want to do it. Just a cautionary note - you have to be careful not to put it back together such that the mid-pipe section rattles against the frame which is what happened when I did it. So then I had to lift the car again, loosen the bolts that hold mufflers to mid-pipe and adjust to eliminate the rattle. I'm happy with the Joe Z but also would have liked the oval tips. Performance-wise, you lose one catalytic converter on each side from the OEM so less back pressure I'm sure.

I ended up getting a can of hi-temp paint, masking the heck out of everything and brushing the black on.

I can't speak for everyone but it certainly has not triggered any CELs on my car.
