Default Humming on a/c

Can anybody tell me why I have a humming sound every time my a/c is on. My a/c is cooling and I think is working fine considering it is summer right now, it is just this humming sound when the compressor is running which is kind of annoying. You can hear this inside and feel when the compressor is engaged. Any suggestions similar to this? Thanks

My first thought is something stuck in the cabin filter that is making the sound - I had it in another car with something like a leaf that caused a whistle type sound. Past that, can you hear it from the engine compartment if the hood is up?

Check the cabin air filter. This is only coming from the front, so it's not the rear A/C?

If the cabin filter is clean, my guess would be the blower fan bearings.

Just got back my GX from hail damage repair , going back to my a/c, I did check my filter and it is good, dealer just change it recently on my 90k chk up, and my fan is fine too, no hum when a/c is not on, going forward when the GX is on high RPM the hum is not noticeable, but on normal operation with low RPM, and the compressor kicks in that's where the humming is so much noticeable inside. Any suggestions on this one as to what is the cause of this problem and appreciate it a lot.

Did you ever discover what was causing this? I have the very same issue in my '09. When the compressor engages I can hear (and feel through the driver floorboard) a groaning/humming sound, but it's only audible/noticeable at low RPM. I was low on refrigerant but even after charging the system it is still making the noise. I'm curious if you ended up with a bad compressor.

I kind of had a hum, then it turned into somewhat of a rattle, sounded like a grind with metal tossed around. It was intermittent. Sometimes nothing, softer or loud. Had it at the dealer 3x, finally just used the ac all the time to get it to do it more often. Brought it to the dealer again, Tech standing infront of engine I cycled the ac off and on. Of course it was a medium noise now, he said he heard it. I said I think its the compressor. Him- The compressor????!! !! No, when they go they just go.
UMMMMM what? Got a call from my service writer, he wrote on the order REPLACE COMPRESSOR????
Yep no more noise!
