HELP: second blow out in 2 weeks.
hey guys,
i need some help. so ive been rolling on some traffic star dtx on my LS 460 for the past year...they are 21x9 and 21x10..i got them w used Achilles ATR sport 235/35/21 and 255/30/55. I rode on these for the past year, no issues. finally got a flat tire in the rear..so i decided to change out all 4 tires and got longer valve stems because the ones taht were on there was too short. i got the exact same tires in the exact same size....last week driving to work..my front left blew out..the whole inner sidewall was torn apart..so i bought another tire..took it back to the shop..checked for leaks..couldnt find anything..and again this morning..same wheel blew again..both times were brand spankin new tires. i bought another new tire..but i dont know what i should do..im paranoid as hell about driving it again...attach is picture of the blown new tire..

Achilles should wear poorly, ride poorly, and perform poorly, but should not just fall apart like that. Maybe the tire store you are going to is selling you an older set of tires? They do have "expiration" dates and if they are selling you old "new" sets than that could be an issue.
Personally, after this many failures I would both go to a different tire store and try a more reputable brand (not saying you need an expensive *** tire, but not the absolute cheapest one either lol).
The LS is a very nice car, and remember, your tires are the only part of your car that actually touches the road.

whats the load rating on those tires i would rock anything lower than 93 for how heavy the car is. i would definitely check the expiration dates on those tire might be dry rotting.

Surely you can find a 21" Sumitomo or Hankook to put on a 3-piece wheel...or maybe not

Car looks fantastic but at 21 inches does not leave room for a lot of rubber (or air for that matter...).
And, because of 21 inch, there are not that many options at that size so going with the best quality tire is a must..... Definitely consider an uplift on brands..... (and yes, more cost...)

so from all the advise you all have given me, look like most of you believe that it is the tires that are no good? no one has had this happen through a leak from a valve stem? i just took the wheels off my car..the rim doesnt look bent/ or cracked. only other thing i can think of besides the "tire" would be valve stem?
