Default Question for those who have NAV

What's the concept behind the favorite 6 POIs that you set up in NAV?

I have them set up and for example the only restaurant-related POI that I set up are "steak houses". So I thought that the only restaurant I would see on the map would be steak houses. Yet the map shows every single restaurant, Chinese, all these international flags and in my area the image is so cluttered as almost unusable. So how do I control it? Why am I seeing all the restaurants yet I only have steak houses among the 6 POIs?

Show On Map/Dining gives you the whole range of restaurants.
Show On Map/Other/Dining/Steak Houses should show just the Meat.

Try clearing everything and start with just the Steak Houses. Advance
to adding your other five (5) POI selections

OK, thanks a million. The step I was missing was the clearing of everything.

Glad to help. Next to know is that you can simply tap the
whole POI box you populated and turn off the display of
all of them when you are not hungry. Return to Show on
Map and toggle the box again to display your choices.

Next trick to learn is the "Mark" button. No typing and no
talking. Tap Mark even when moving to create a return
point. Find up to 100 Marks in Address Book under Destinations.
Advance class on Marks: while in Park, open up any Mark and
Edit it, change the Icon, name it and now you can sort the
Address Book you Icon or Name or Date of Creation. Have Fun!

Oh, thanks. I wasn't sure what "mark" does.
So "mark" saves the chosen location to the address book.
One thing I regret not having - I can't sort Address Book based on distances from the current location, for me this would be an important sort capability, this is what my portable Garmin can do.

>> Return to Show on Map
OK, but this toggles (on/off) all my POIs (all 5 to be exact) not just my steak houses.

I was surprised how spotty the list of POIs can be. For example I was looking for Whole Foods Market stores. There are a few in my immediate area. I was hoping to get one which is about 10 miles from me, in next town. It did not have it, however it showed one about 300 miles from me.

Ooops, user error, my error.
Of course I was able to find all Whole Foods stores.
On an example like this you learn how to use the unit properly.
