Key fob suggestions needed
Both plastic key fob housings on our '02 ES 300 are breaking out by the screw near the key blade. Any suggestions on where to get replacement fob housings? Generics will do I don't care if they say Lexus on the plastic housings. Thanks.

Greetings:
I have a 2003 ES300 and I found the best deal on keys and fobs, etc. at 1010Keys in San Francisco. You can find them on Ebay. They made keys for me without the key code, just using a photo of my one master key. They will provide programming instructions for your new keys and remotes.

The back cover is replaceable. Mine had a similar crack where the screw is.
When I was cutting my spare key, the dealer had a few spare ones and put one on for me.

There is a youtube video showing how strong it is. I've no doubt that it is very strong and would last forever...but $120? For one key? $240 for two keys but at least they cut it for free. I just dropped $9 on a pair of aftermarket replacements. They are the same design as OEM, and get decent reviews. I will have to pay someone to cut them for me, and it looks like prices range from $10-$50 to have a key cut, the $50 figure being the dealer price. You should not pay the dealer to do it, but even if you did, you could still buy 4 keys and get them cut for less than the cost of 2 Eternity keys. And if you go to an Ace Hardware or something you'd pay probably half the dealer cost.
I expect the $9 pair of keys I bought will last a few years. I understand the Eternity key for someone who plans to keep their car forever and wants a permanent solution, but I don't think it's worth it for most people.

You can order the oem key shells from mylparts.com for around 30 bucks, if you have your key code and you ask nicely they may even cut it for free.
I got my replacement brand new OEM key shell from them, all I had to do was move my fob internals and I was done. I might do a spare later just in case.
Sounds like the OP just wants the back covers, like speedkar said, just order them off ebay, cheap and easy.

FYI - I broke my original Lexus key recently so I purchased 2 Lexus (Denso) shells for a total of $19.29 (out the door) from 1010Keys on Ebay. Included was the cutting of both keys plus 1 wafer battery too. This particular package required my assigned key number from Lexus which can be found on the wallet key. They fit perfect.
