Issues with Home link
Anyone able to program homelink on the new RX without the garage door remote? I have a liftmaster and have paired my 2013 GS with it previously but cannot get the new RX to pair. I don't have a remote anymore, can but a replacement if I need to but would rather not.
Any tips?

I'm assuming the RX HomeLink is similar to the one in the GS. First, park the car within range of the garage, but not blocking the door's ability to open and close. Then, erase any data on the system by holding the first and third buttons (~20 sec). Next, press the smart/learn button on your garage door. Finally, go back to your car and repeatedly press and let go the button (hold 3 sec/press) you want to program at least 5 times or until the garage begins opening/closing. That should be it!

Also remember that some garage door openers can only remember 3 to 6 remotes including the ones in our cars. I remember when I programed my GS, my wifes RX which was already programmed stop working. So I read the manual and it says garage door machine can only remember 6 remotes and if the 7th remote gets learned it will remove the 1st remote on the memory. So basically in order for me to add my wifes RX, I had to erase one of the remotes that came with the house when I bought it. I hope this also helps.

I tried several times to program our Genie intellicode door opener following the Lexus manual without success. Finally googled it and found this. The missing piece from the manual is using the garage remote first. I had to dig through the garage to find an old remote opener, but it worked on the first try.
"To program a built-in-car transmitter to a rolling code garage door opener (Genie rolling code is called Intellicode, Liftmaster/Sears is called Security plus), you should take the following steps.
Clear out anything previously programmed into the in-car system from the factory by holding down on the 2-outside buttons simultaneously, until the in-car LED starts flashing rapidly. This may take up to a minute (in most cases, the key should be on auxilary, and/or the car door must be shut).
Decide which button you want to make to be your in-car garage door transmitter. Hold your transmitter up near the selected button, pressing both the garage door remote and the selected in-car transmitter button simultaneously. Hold down on the buttons until the in-car, LED light flashes rapidly. This sets the in-car remote transmitter to be your garage door openers make transmitter, but you are not done. You now need to make this in-car transmitter your personal transmitter.
Go to the Learn Button on your garage door opener. The button is usually next to the area where the floppy antenna is connected to the motor head. With Genie it is most often behind the light lens, and an indicator light flashes red when pressed. With Sears or Liftmaster (Chamberlain) it is near, or part of, the terminal screw board, and is a red, green or purple square button with a green, amber or purple indicator light. Press this learn button momentarily. The indicator light will turn on and blink if Genie or otherwise stay lit. For Genie systems, go back to the in-car transmitter button you programmed and press this button 3 or 4 times, or until the door starts moving. This should set your in-car transmitter to your garage door opener. For Liftmaster, Sears, or Linear Megacode press and hold the in-car button you programmed until the garage opener light flashes. Your in-car is now programmed to operate your door."

With my Genie system, similar to the poster above, I needed to dig out an old remote. I first had to teach the garage handheld remote to the Homelink and THEN sync it to the Genie rolling code using the red button on the garage door opener base. It's a two step process.

How to set up Homelink
Non Rolling Code Garage Doors:
1. Park the car in the driveway.
2. Hold your garage door remote 4 inches from the Homelink button you want to program.
3. Press and hold both the garage door remote and the Homelink button until the red light rapidly flashes then release both buttons.
4. Test your newly programed Homelink button to ensure it opens the garage door. If door opens congrats! If not proceed to step 5.
5. Wipe out your Homelink system to start clean slate. Hold the first and third Homelink buttons until the red light rapidly flashes.
6. Hold your garage door remote 4 inches from the Homelink button and press and hold. While holding the Homelink button, press and release the garage door remote in full one second intervals until the garage door opens or closes depending on whether the garage door were already opened or closed.
Rolling Code Garage Doors:
1. Park the car in the driveway
2. Hold your garage door remote 4 inches from the Homelink button you want to program.
3. Press and hold both the garage door remote and the Homelink button until the red light rapidly flashes then release both buttons.
4. Grab a step stool or ladder and locate the trainer/testing button on the garage door motor (the unit on the ceiling). Press this button once. You have 30 seconds to get back to the car
5. On the Homelink button you programmed earlier, press and release, press and release and press and hold on the third time. (For each press and release, do so for full one second intervals).
6. The light on the garage door motor should go off/on and then immediately open or close the garage door depending on whether the garage door were already opened or closed.
7. Congrats, you Homelink should now be set. If the Homelink button does not open/close the garage. Press the tester/training button once more on the garage door motor and “Press and Release” the Homelink button until the garage door opens or closes.

Just a quick note about the '16 RX, it has Homelink 2.0 and doesn't require you to hold down the button on the mirror. You press it once and let go, it will start an orange slow blink, hold the remote up to the mirror and press until you get a solid green light for fixed codes and a fast blinking green for a rolling code. For rolling codes this will require the second step of pressing the learn button on the garage door motor. I've programmed probably close to 100 garage doors and I've never been able to program one without programming the remote first.

I was able to get it working. I think I ran into the device limit with the lift master itself as AL13* mentioned. I reset it and both our cars, all good now. Again, thanks. Happy to be a part of a community where everyone jumps in to help like this!

I have a 2007 IS and had a problem when I replaced my old Genie opener with a new Liftmaster. I called Liftmaster and told them that I could not get the car to pair with the remote. They said that Lexus had not provided the info in time to be included with their new systems, and said that I would have to get a "Repeater" that mounts on the garage door opener. You can then program your car to the Repeater, which then pairs with the opener. The repeater is $15-20. this may be your problem. Try calling the CS number in your Liftmaster.

I got my HomeLink to work with my brand new (like, 1-month old) Liftmaster with Security 2+. It works like a charm -- I used the instructions on HomeLink's website, entering my model of Liftmaster and 2016 RX.
It is really cool: the lights show you when it connects, whether the door is going up or down, when the door gets stuck (the up and down lights both flash), and when the door successfully closes all the way (down arrow goes from yellow to green).
