Default New 1st Gen Owner!! (trackmkiii build thread)

Hey guys just bought a 1994 GS300!! These cars have always been on my list of cars to buy and this one was so cheap I just jumped on it. Its got 216,xxx miles on it, it needs a trans, interior is wrecked but moRE importantly to me the body is straight and the motor is strong!! I found a trans for $300 so I will stab that in when it shows up at work next. I plan to re-do the entire interior (probably color change to black), radio upgrade, tons of suspension work (new poly bushings everywhere and coil overs), Supra brake upgrade and a set of XXR 526s other than that not much else.

Here are some pics

Nice pick up, the exterior looks to be in decent shape.

I have been working on my GS for the last few weeks in my spare time. Over the last few weeks I have installed a new (used) transmission, rear wheel bearing/hub, New hood/trunk struts, New radiator/hoses, replaced both rear window regulators, removed old crappy window tint, replaced front brake rotors, restored headlights and had the car wash, waxed and buffed.

Headlights before

Headlights after

I need to find a good set of HIDs to finish it off!! Any recommendations?

Pic after wash,wax and buff

It came out pretty good but I am going to have it wet sanded and clay bar'd next.

I took a look inside of the ECU and....

Found a bad capacitor so I sent it off to Lextech.org to be repaired. I hope that it will take care of the last few of my issues.

That's it for now but not the end...This week I am going to order a trans cooler, SS braided brake lines (To replaced the old torn and cracking OE lines) ,have new tint put in and I also hope to get the ECU back this week. After that I plan to send my gauge cluster to Lextech.org for repairs/upgrades and the make my way into the engine bay for new spark plugs, customer MSD wires, MSD blaster coil, Dizzy cap and rotor.

Hey guys just a small update!! I installed Osram Fog Break halogen fog light bulbs. I love the deep yellow color and they perform really well. I think it makes the car look pretty mean at night. I also bought a used INJEN air intake. I am going to use the intake tube with the stock air box and a K&N Filter. ( I will post pics tomorrow)

The fog lights look awesome! Question, what did you use to restore the headlights? They look really good! My headlights and air cabin filter are my next small projects.

Thanks man!! I wet sanded them down with 600 grit until they were completely smooth and even all over.
I used a lot of water and sanded them really throughly so it was smooth to the touch. I wiped them down with alcohol wipers and "cheese cloth" to remove any dust or anything else that may be left behind after sanding. After that I sprayed them with one coat of clear coat. The wet sanding is definitely the most important part!! The cabin filter is worth it. You can find them on ebay for about $30. Next up for me will be installing my header once it gets here and its time for new wheels and tires because my tires are worn out.
