Btw....OP has 300+ posts...he doesn't need a vouch for high-priced items.

I have a new Air...I never use it. I use my ipad and my MB pro more than anything. Yea the pro is more money, but its a way better computer.

For travel...definitely the air, which i probably use once a week. I've been using my ipad and iphone4 more than the air.

The pro is the workhorse...wouldn't mind getting one if i worked more away from the office.

I'm planning to just have a laptop on the go. I already have iPad2 and iPhone. Planning to do heavy photo editing on the laptop. From the reviews, it looks like the new MacBook air performs better than the most expensive 2010 MBP.

What biased review was that? I can tell you first hand doing photo stuff is night and day faster on my MBP than my air.

Not to mention a screen that I can actually see things on. If your serious about doing photo work on a mac system. Get this MBP and be done with it.

That review is 100% wrong. The only thing better about the Macbook Air is its portability and the addition of flash storage solid state drive. In terms of performance, the new 2011 Macbook Pro will do circles around the Air. The MBP utilizes a quad core sandy bridge processor, while the Macbook Air still runs a dual core intel core i7 processor. This MBP is twice as fast, if not faster than an Air. The graphics card in the 15" models are dual graphics card, intel HD 3000 and AMD graphics, good enough to run games on and you can upgrade the memory all the way up to 16GB. In my opinion, a maxed out Air will still lag when running intensive programs like Adobe CS5 or even Final Cut Pro X. I wouldn't hesitate to run these programs on a MBP.

Everything in the Air is integrated, so once you buy it from the store, its set in stone. There's nothing you can do to upgrade it, except return it for the better one.

I'm selling to get the Macbook Air, because I already have a 27" quad-core iMac to go along with my iPad 2, which I want to get rid of.

You can ask any graphics designer who uses MAC. I would venture to say that all of them would prefer the MBP over the Air.

I want it for portability. Not to say that the MBP isn't portable, but I've had MBP's for quite some time and I want something different.

Actually misread the article. They were comparing a i5 MBP vs a i7 MBA.

Wish this was within my budget. GLWS
