Default **Help Identifying Vacuum Hose - P0446 P0441

Recently I had codes pop up which were the P0446 and P0441 for some sort of vacuum leak. I've done plenty of research and popped my hood and found that a hose was disconnected somehow. I did reconnect it and reset my CEL but it just came back in a couple days. The hose seems very stiff and the clamp isn't holding it tight. The picture is shown below of the hose on the driver side of my engine bay near that green cap.

Does anyone know what this specific hose is called or what the exact part number is? Does anyone recommend replacing the hose and clamp next to it as well in the picture? I've tried searching for the part numbers but no luck so far.

Hopefully if i can replace this hose it will make the CEL go away for sure. The initial car starting is smooth and gas mileage is still very steady.

Thanks in advance.

i dont know if this would fix your problem but if you just take the hose up to autozone or something they can figure out what size it is and sell you a new one for really cheap, less than $20, so i would start off with that

that's crazy.. the same damn hose cracked on my GS. I replace it with a generic auto store hose that somewhat matched and the cel went away. The problem is that the hose is shaped and stiff.. and finding a replacement was kinda hokey.

I think it's your EVAP hose based on the codes your throwing and the 3rd picture in the attached file. If the hose is still good why don't you replace the stock clamp with a hose clamp?

You could just take it to an auto parts store and try to match it up best u can. Try to get it a little longer than the one you have. Check your motor mounts, if they are shot, then the original hose will keep coming off from the engine lifting under torque. If you buy one a little longer, it should be ok till you change the motor mounts (assuming they are bad).

i will try to get a generic hose at autozone or something today but i'd really like to find a part number so i can order one from Sewell or go pick one up locally at the dealer. does anyone have any idea what it is actually called on the website or the part number?

BCPGS430 your picture really helped. it's called a EVAP HOSE in that but i can't seem to locate what it's called on a lexus parts website. the hose is also really hard so just buying a new clamp wouldn't help much.

here is the picture of the EVAP hose i need.

You need to change your VSV valve... part # 17650E

Sometimes those valves get stuck open...

I got p0441 on my 400 today... I am planning on changing the gas cap (hehehehe just me) and the vsv valve as mentioned. Maybe a bit of dust is in the system. These cars have a very sensitive evap system so the slightest thing e.g. a hose popping out triggers the CEL light. Trust me I went through this with 3 of my 5 2gen GS's...

Try those first... If you need a hook up on the VSV valve, hot me up on PM. It is definately a dealer part...

it was fixed for awhile. i found a generic hose/clamp and put it on pretty tight and reset it. just came back on after a few hundred miles. been meaning to get it checked out lately but haven't had time. car still runs very smooth, gas mileage still the same at 19-21mpg.

Had to go to the dealer. They said it's the charcoal canister or what not. This plus a couple of other fixes are running me $1200+. How can i check that this part has been replaced? I don't trust anybody, particularly the dealer.

Taking it in monday at Lexus of Queens. Customer service rep sucks. Hasn't called me back twice already. Can't wait to give my feedback on him, plus the woman that initially spoke to me lost all my info and they didn't have my info when i went in for my scheduled appointment.

I had a CEL, car runs the same as always, very smooth. I got the codes read and they were P0441,0440,0446. Suggested parts were gas cap, I cleaned the gas cap and around it and put it on tight just as a minor thing, I then saw it could be the hose valve and took a look, did not notice anything off at first but once I took the engine cover off I saw the Vacuum hose was totally disconnected. I reconnected it without squeezing hose clamp but it does not seem like a very tight fit. Seems like it won't hold and will come loose again, is there a better way to secure it? Clip seems fine, anyone try duct tape? How do most of you guys reset the codes? Unplug battery, have Autozone do it, or is there another method?
