yea when it comes down to it theres no way i can afford that high of a insurance payment. i think we are going to put the car under my dads name and hes covered for everyone who drives the car. the car im currently driving is registered under my brothers name and i pay $92 a month for that. i could put the car under my name and just pay liability insurance which is like 100-150 a month.
im really not lieing when i say i drive like a grandma now. i am usually puttering along the freeway at 60, and surface streets im always followed by a trail of cars speeding to get around me haha. rather them than me, i pray to never have another traffic violation for a long long time. i used to own a few moded cars that got me into a lot of trouble with speeding.

I just got a 2008 IS-350 on Friday and got my insurance today. I was totally shocked at how inexpensive it was.
Liability only was $89.00 for six months.
Adding uninsured motorist brings it up to $111.00
Full coverage with $1000 deductable is only $287.00 per six months and they'll replace the car if it is stolen or totalled with no depreciation.
This is much less than I was expecting. I toyed with the idea of self insuring for the collision and comp, but at these low rates there is no chance of that.
OTOH, I'm 55 and have a clean driving record. Perhaps that makes a difference.
