Default warning dont buy from hid-sin.com for hids.

well as a fellow member of clublexus i wanted to warn you about hid-sin. recently my hid bulb went out and it was still under warranty. the kit was bought april 25th 2006. they are not honoring there warranty as of when i bought my kit. at the time i was given the impression if at anytime either the ballast or bulb breaks then they will replace it under warranty free of charge or worst comes to worst i pay for shipping. well apparently by reading the emails they dont care for there customers. ill post the emails so you can decide for yourself if you want to do business with them but for myself never again. the kit was called genesis with 6000K application.

Hi,
Switch the bulbs around to see if the problem happens on the same side.
If
it does then it's a ballast issue. But if the problem goes to the other
side
then it's the bulb issue.

ok if you think it's the bulb then we will send
you
out a new one. You may
keep the bulb and you do not have to sent us back
the defected item. There
is a $40 charge for replacement. This will save
you
from having to have to
ship back the defected part and wait 2 weeks for
test and replacement.
Instead we just send you out a replacement within
2-4 days delivery time.

You can paypal us at sales@hid-sin.com and in the
paypal note section let us
know what bulb application you want and color.
Don't
forget the name brand
of the kit as well.

well im sorry then i guess i will no longer being
doing business with you. why would i need to pay for a
defect in worksmanship where its not my fault. at the
time of when i bought my system i was given the
impression that if anytime within one year if anything
happens to the system that you will be replacing it
minus if it was abused in any way. i guess i will be
buying 2 new kits soon from someone else because i
need to replace your defective kit and one for my
fogs. thank you very much.

whaa?

sounds like YOU wanted 2 bulbs even though only ONE was burned out....

AND

You didnt "want" to send in the defective bulb (why?)

AND

they asked for $40 so u wouldnt have to send the bulb out (which isnt a bad idea, since warranty claims with almost any manufacturer/retailer takes a week at least). they tried to sell u the bulb at (i think) a heavily discounted price and u refused, which is acceptable but then u refused to send them the defective bulb.

why would they send you a new bulb at no cost w/o at least having the defective bulb in hand

ive never even bought from them but i smell something off

well i asked them about the second bulb because well the first one burnt out and i was afraid the second one would also burn out. i wanted to see if they would still change it under warranty just to give me a peace of mind that they are behind there product. they said the bulb should pretty much out last my car. well it didnt. i had no problem about me sending in the bulb but they didnt give me any info about sending in my bulb other than i have to wait 2 weeks. it was said in the email to them on april 18th. saying how much will it cost for me if i send it in. meaning the shipping cost and such. why would i pay $40 for a bulb that should have been changed for free under warranty. i can afford to wait 2 weeks for a new bulb. i bought some bulbs when the hid went out. so im in no hurry right now to get the bulb changed out in a hurry but at the same time my warranty is running out. here is the bigger issue they decide to change their warranty without any notice and also my warranty has a grand father clause to it because i bought the product under its old warranty not new one. if you look on their site no where does it say if your bulb breaks you gonna pay $40 to replace. it says they will replace it.

the important part is that they want $40 either way for "warranty replacement" and that when originally purchased, this wasn't the warranty as stated... no where does it state the $40 would be refunded once the original bulb was returned (which they didn't require), so essentially, they are just selling him a new bulb...

I deal with warranty stuff all the time - and in my world, the warranty that existed when originally purchased is the warranty for the rest of that products life... I think that legally, you can't change warranty terms once something is purchased...

back in the late 70's, early 80's, JCPenney sold a "lifetime battery" Basically, they would replace a battery any time it died for the life of the customer or vehicle, whichever came first... Our national account system is responsible for replacing these batteries ever since JCP stopped doing auto repair work... We are still replacing them to this day (the last battery was sold august, 1981) One guy has 4 of them in his RV... imagine how many batteries JCP has bought him...

just goes to show you what a real company does when it makes a mistake... obviously these HID guys have learned that their warranty policies and pricing aren't working for them in a profitable manner, so they are screwing the little guy that bought their kits...

wow, look what it says on their Warranty Coverage page.

Warranty Coverage on Bulbs:
Bulbs are free warranted for a period of one (1) year from the date of the purchase. Warranty does not cover breakage due to improper installation, shipping or handling.

wow....
Its very easy to advertise a warranty when you are selling product. Few companies actually stand behind it. I would understand if they wanted you to pay for shipping but thats just ridiculous.
