Default Daizen Steering Rack Bushings Install *56K Warning*

Here is the step by step install of the Steering Racking Bushings

For this section, you will need to use a wood piece for leverage and use a craw bar to ply it upwards so you are able to know off the old bushing

There is another bushing behind the first one. You can press it out pretty easily

Notice how the old rubber bushing on the left is completely tore up

After you re-insert all the new Daizen bushings, just screw everything back on and you are ready to go. After this installation of bushings, you will need to do an alignment.

Great write-up..This mod is worth every penny..

I had this installed on my car for a month now...My mechanic had to drop my whole steering rack to get to both bushings on my V8 motor...I asked him if there was a short cut to it, he said that taking out whole rack was the only way to get to all the bushings..On the SC300, you can do as described on this thread but, on the SC400 it seems like you have a journey ahead of you...

For the Steering Rack Bushings, There are only "Pros" to this upgrade. The steering feels much tighter and agile. You also feel the road a lot more making the SC into a sports car instead of a boat. Steering Rack bushings are the cheapest upgrade. Its only 40 Dollars!! You can pretty much install it yourself if you follow the step by step instruction on the top. Good Luck. Check out
http://www.tmengineering.net/suspens...n/make/sc.html for pricing.

Oh i figured out why i keep eatting thru steering rack bushings.....

I leave the wire unhooked on the rack, so my steering is always in "highway mode", nice and firm. At slow speeds it puts alot of force on parts that dont normally see it.

I did an alignment because I had my lower and upper control arm bushings changed out as well. Maybe its from that that my steering angle is all jacked up. But if you get steering rack bushings done right, you don't have to.

Great pics thank you!!

You would have to get an alignment for the LCA's because they have eccentric camber bolts on the bottom. I don't see any reason why you would need an alignment after doing the steering rack bushings. The rack gets installed back in the exact same position.
