Yes, i know this noise. It used to be real bad in my old car, i was told it has something to do with coolant lines. I usually hear it in the winter up north, when i first start the car and run the heat while the thermostat opens..

Its air bubbles going through your heater core. Unfortunately air bubbles tend to get in there when you have a head gasket leak. I know this sound all too well from my Supra days.

You can try having the system flushed - but if it comes back.... you are in for fun.

So its better to just leave it alone, Will it come back worse if it does come back?

Na, if you got it you got it. Watch for things like your heat to stop working and keep a close eye on your temp gauge. One of the issues with air in the system is that air can get trapped near the temp sender - so it doesn't register and then all the sudden it skyrockets (when water hits it). If either of these things start happening (wild swings in temp and/or heat that stops working all the sudden) then get the thing looked at.

I have had that in a few different cars, its coming form the dashboard area.....it sounds like water bubbling/ gurgling. I had it in both of my Supras, my last GS, my Escalade......its nothing to be too concerned about. I had an explanation givent o me once, but I cant remember exactly what they said.....something to do with the heater core....blah, blah ,blah

I've had this twice. Happened when the quick lube oil change place took the radiator cap off a hot engine to check the fluid. Air gets in, and the air bubble works its way into the heater core... no valve to keep it out (according to Lexus of Austin). When I had the car in, they purged the air. Didn't tell me how they did it. In spite of the Lexus extended warranty, I was charged $10 or 15 bucks to have it fixed. Now I tell the oil change place to not check the coolant level or quality.

No reason to put up with it though; especially at 15 bucks to fix it.

Hey Doug I'm glad to see that you are still around and offering good sound advice!

I was afraid you might have left us!
