Default MSD 6A install - Pictures & Info

I don't know if anyone else will benefit from this information, but I made up my own easy to wire-up diagram for the 2JZ-GE motor (w/distributor) for those of you who would like to install an MSD box.

I read a bunch of threads about it and saw a few wiring diagrams here and there, but quite honestly, some of them are a bit confusing ... so I condensed a couple of them down into one simple diagram, which I color coded with the actual wire colors.

Got it hooked up and the car started on the first crank. I haven't driven the car yet due to rain, and in fact, I haven't even let it warm up yet, but at least I know it is working because the car runs .

Main thing is that I am hoping that the box provides enough ignition help to get me to 650rwhp. I will be happy with 600rwhp, but I think that 650 is within reach.

Finished product:

Sorry for the quality ... not bright enough out for me to get a good picture.

Glad you got the MSD in, i've been surprised by the car's performance on stock ignition. I see no reason you shouldn't be able to make 650rwhp...our turbo tops out at 680, but of course you'll have to go Getrag...that'll be one fun ride.

Default Thanks again!

Hey Angel, nice job! I've had my MSD sitting on my garage floor for about 8 months now Maybe this will finally give me the incentive to get it installed

Thanks for yet more good info!

I was wondering if the 2jz-ge engine is a even fire engine? Reason is because I want to put in the MSD BTM.
