Question Thinking of selling gs for convert c5, opinions?

I am thinking of selling my Gs 400 and getting a c5 convertible vette. I don't drive the GS much, 3000 since May, and want something a little more fun aka convertible. It seems you can hop them up with mods quite a bit. Opinions needed.

I sold my 2003 Z06 and bought a 2004 GS430. You can't go wrong buying a vette. I've had three of them. Lots of power and fun to drive.
You can go Mod crazy there is allot more mod stuff for the Vette than the Lexus.
You might miss some of the luxuries of the Lexus if you buy a vette.
If you’re going to wait for a C6 be prepared for a very long wait. Product doesn't start until June and there are many people that have deposits on the C6. Buying a C5 you’ll have your pick. Most of the dealers are offering $7K off MSRP. I can point you the direction of some very nice pre owned C5’s (I’m not in the business I just know allot of Vette owners)
Best of luck in what ever you decide,
Tim

hey i used to have a c5 it was great, but i would without a doubt wait for the c6, more power more luxury more everything, more price tag too though. i sold my 97 for 21k in march and i just sold a 99 c5 conv. for 30k, has 31k miles on it and i paid over 52 for it,. i hear the new ones go for 50-60k, but no conv or z06 in the first year only hardtops like when they releaased the c5 in 97. vettes are fun but wait for the new one and if you want a conv new on you ll have to wait for a while.

Lexroc, I have been cruising the corvette forums and did notice you were there.

I am interested in a C5 because I don't want to wait and pay the big$$ for the new C6. It seems to be a buyers market for a C5 because of the new C6. If anyone know of someone selling a yellow convert. let me know. We will see what happens.

There is alot more mod options for the vette than the Lex, and I do know I will be giving up the luxury of the GS, but for the amount of driving I do with it I think the Vetter would be more fun, especially in a convertible.

Anyone looking for a perfect 00GS400 with only 29,950 miles??

I got a female friend whos father is pretty high up in GM. There headquarters is 7 miles from mu house. I was over her house and he came home in it. Let me take it down the strret and around the block. Got to drive the new XLR before it came out to. There is some dude in my hood who must be high up at Ford because I saw the DB9 on the road over the summer. Living next to Grosse Pointe Farms has its advantages. William Clay Ford Jr. just sold his house here and moved to Ann Arbor but every other big shot Ford/Chrysler/GM exec damn near lives there. I tried to go down to Cobo Hall and see if I could get a sneak pic of the new GS. No luck, guess I will wait till next week and go to the show.
