Lease ending, what to expect

If you have substantial scratches on your bumper you might call one of the bumper repair guys to come to your house and do it ahead of the inspection - cost about $200 and most do a great job. But be sure the scratches are enough to warrant repairs. If you decide to wait until the inspector confirms that they will have to be fixed you will need to submit your repair invoice and maybe a picture with your lease turn-in documents and even then LFS may never see the documents and bill you for the damage anyway - you could work that out but it would take some effort. Do you think the scratches are that bad?

They will make you fix that...

Yes, I have found the inspectors and LFS to be pretty accommodating but this needs to be fixed and you can best have it done before the inspection. There is something about a certain dollars amount of damage to EACH of the four corners of the car that could come into play. I would have it repaired.

If purchasing do you remember whether or not you still had to take your vehicle through their inspection process? Know it was a long time ago and policies may have changed though. I'd be doing a cash deal as well.

FWIW I have never turned in a leased car, I have always traded out of them so mileage and condition have never been an issue.

A lease is only good for people who need a lower payment and always want a car payment.. Plus negotiating more mileage can be done, but it isnt free...Some people drive a lot of miles a year, some dont...If one gets a car and will keep it for many years, leasing is not a good option..

Just because it isn't good for you doesn't mean it isn't something that works for others. Plenty of people want a new car every few years, they don't have an issue staying within the mileage requirements of a lease, and for them (that describes me) leasing works great. If you can deduct the lease for business that's a great added bonus (which I also can do).
Nobody's trying to talk you into leasing, so why the energy talking is out of leasing?

If you want to buy a car and keep it a long time, why would you lease?
