Default Door auto unlocks

Greetings All,

Having had this ES350 since November, I have had it on no less than 3 occasions unlock the doors when I approached it and upon walking away it did not relock.

This sporadic behavior is a bit disconcerting to me. Has any one else had this issue?

Thanks,

MacG

""Security feature
If a door is not opened within approximately 60 seconds after the vehicle is
unlocked, the anti-theft system automatically locks the vehicle again""

did u wait the full 60 seconds to see if it worked?

Interesting. I did not. Would I have to be out of range for the fob for it to relock? It had me thinking that this is how that kuckle head got into my car - if it had unlocked and I did not realize it.

Now my question leans to why is it so sporadic? 3-4 times in 5 months.

Thanks.

Upon further review I see I muddled the waters,,,What I was really asking is why it would unlock while I was still 10 feet away without pushing the fob button.

It will relock the doors upon hitting the unlock button without opening the doors.

Mine has auto-unlocked on me several times as I've approached it. But, I was always getting in the car, so I've never waited to see if it would auto-relock.

It sounds like you've already had a theft occurrence because of this intermittent problem. Only a Lexus dealer can change auto door lock/window settings. You'll have to pay for this service. So, I'd talk to your service writer about the problem and have it taken care of before another theft occurs. Good luck.

I may be missing something, here. Why would doors auto-unlocking due to the presence of the FOB indicate a theft occurrence? I have no indication of a theft or an attempted theft.

He said a knuckle head got into his car. Sounds like an illegal entry if not a theft.
