Default Stroker Kit..

Here is what I received from the guy someone was talking about a stroker kit to:

"Mark -
A stroker kit for your Lexus SC400 is $2,099 plus a crankshaft. The kit
consists of a stroked crank, a set of forged pistons in your choice of bore
size and compression ratio, and a set of the Deves racing piston rings.
Delivery time is 6 to 8 weeks. when you get ready to do this give us a call.
- Carl at PAECO"

How does this sound? I would definately go to a 5.0.. I don't know anything about stroking an engine.. any thoughts? What would the cost of installation be on something like this? Should I port and polish the head while I'm at it? Pro's / Con's??

Dont know about the ecu being updated, but if it did, I bet Leo at weapon R would be all over it if you brought your car in. And when you bore a car dont you physically need to make the holes bigger? (or did that make no sense, my friend tried to explain the mechanics of boring and stroking and **** to me but it was a little over my head)

In fact, if you're serious about this setup, I'll go ahead and order it, I just talked to Leo and he said he can tune it. I'll have my timing belt replaced at the same time, since my motor's getting up in mileage.

Any ideas on performance gain, effect on mileage, or the optimal compression ratio for best 0-60 times? MadMax, did Leo give a price range on the ECU tuning?

the_ez_rhino, you are correct. Bore and stroke are just measurements: bore = diameter of cylinder, stroke = amount of up/down movement the pistons do.

Tell Leo not to throw away the specs for your ECU, since I want to do the same thing Do you know of a palce that will install the Stroker Kit? Might as well have the head ported and polished too.. Email me @ mjames08@sprintspectrum for the phone #

There are two heads, and if the price doesn't include the crank, then you're talking about $2100 for pistons and rings

When he says "The price is $2099 plus a crankshaft" he means a core return...

So it's a reground stock crank and pistons for $2100+ core? Should include the rods for that much, and IMO i'd rather see a nice aftermarket billet. If you can find out, what will the final displacement be, assuming we would bore the cylinders not much more than a cleanup?

It is a custom job, so you can choose the displacement, etc..

Hmm, I wonder if they can do something approaching 5000cc, like the C's kit. mjames08, thx for the info.

Hi MadMaxSC400,

I like your rims. Is your Lex lowered? If so what springs?
