Default Completely turning off lights with car running?

The other night i was.. on a stealth mission with some friends, and i had to leave the engine running, i flipped the lights all the way off, and shut off the fog lights.. but i couldn't get the small inner lights to go off (not exactly sure which ones they were). the light wasnt too bright, but still was just annoying that i couldnt actually turn all the lights off

any help?

As far as I know they can't be turned off unless you turn off the ignition. I know on some models you can, there's another notch on the headlight switch to turn them off, and others it's an LPS. I was surprised to see that it wasn't an LPS on the IS as I would have opted to turn it off.

you can get them turned off as an lps setting. just have to ask the service tech to do it for you.

I don't think it's on the sheet, is it? Some dealers may not do this if it's not on the sheet.

Hmm... running the car with the lites off? Lovers lane or waiting for your homies to sneak out a back door with a tv?

Some dealers will do it if you ask, others refuse to do it. Safety thing. My service writer wasn't aware of it when I asked him, but I had the complete sheet of all options (look in the FAQ thread) and he said he would talk to the technician. They turned them off.

it's weird on the drl's. I seriously have no idea why people would want those ugly low power high beams on during the day. However, after reading these forums I think me, ben_r, and evitzee are only people that had them shut off. So this is one of those things that I feel either old or just wrong about. I still say they look like crap.

When i go 4 wheeling, I need my DRL's... so I opted to keep mine on.

But I got rid my the ugly crappy look last weekend...
