Castrol high mileage or valvoline maxlife 5w30 with purolator filter every 3-4000 miles. Now at just under 258k and runs like new

TB/WP/plugs were all done around 200K. Intake tubing has some cracks where clamps go but I doubt that's the issue. No Check engine light or anything

Spend $3000 on 'performance' upgrades on your LS and it's still pig slow. I recommend selling and getting at least 98-00 LS400

Do a search on side branch resonator. Same sound but cancels out drone without exhaust restriction. Have this done on Z. Stock quiet at cruising speeds. Google is your friend

Keep using whatever you were using. Most likely regular dino oil should be good. Or you can use high mileage synthetic blends like valvoline or castrol gtx HM. Stay away from full synthetic

I don't own LS430 but my 23 yr old LS loves it when I open her up once in awhile. Currently at 255k miles but so smooth. I'm obsessed with its maintenance so maybe that helps

older LS' s are great cars if you can do most repairs yourself. Since this car is for your daughter I'm not so sure. Repair costs can add up fast if you can't repair yourself. Something to consider
