2,500 mile trip. Would you be comfortable taking your IS?

2008 IS 250 with 87K miles. Planning to take a long road trip this summer from CO to NC and back.

Have had the car for a year and absolutely no issues. Starts every time, no over heating, etc.

Traction control off by default. Is this possible?

Get a torque wrench and do it yourself regardless of what the dealer said. Torque it to 76 lbs with star pattern and you should be fine.

The most Important thing is to have equal torque...

We have two Lexus dealerships here. One didn't recommend it and only does drain and fill for $115. The other does have the special machine and can do it for $400. Go figure

Anyone get a letter from Lexus regarding potential recall?

I got one in the mail just yesterday. It was about some potential recall about gaskets or something like that. They must have sent it out to everyone. This was for the earlier IS models I believe

Not sure how the system is set up to achieve the dual temp. I guess higher end models probably have dedicated blowers

Turning off invasive "Check System" when running winter tires without TPMS

I have winter tires now. No TPMS.

I understand cars will flash and warn me about TPMS sensor.

But it is pretty invasive on the Lexus. Has constant "Check System" and red triangle warning.
