That's kinda what I was thinking, that it'll be fine behind a 1UZ. I think the ratios are maybe a little low, although I'll have to look into it, but that's easily solvable with a different rear end....

Maynanator, PM sent.

Yeah, that's the only thing I'm worried about, is the strength of the transmission. I ran across a few things that suggest the truck W55's are actually stronger than the IS...

Just found a W55 in my garage

From an '86 2wd 22RE pickup. I could have sworn it was a G series, so I never gave it a second look for the 4+ years it's been sitting there. I'd need a shifter to make it fit in the SC and that's...

SC wheels on......an SC

Saleen/Stern SC's, that is. Finally there are five-lug 18" reps of these, so I figured it's worth a shot. Can anyone chop these onto my car? The current wheels are 16's and the black wheels are 18's,...

That is spectacularly clean. Kinda what my '97+ bodied 3L2 '95 could look like if I didn't live on a dirt road. :egads:

Yeah, there's a right way to do it for sure. A motto I picked up recently is, "If you don't have time to do it right, how will you have time to do it over?" Look through my bodywork build thread and...

Ouch lol. Yeah, that's pretty brutal, but it seems to me that you'd be spending most of that on a GTE swap as well. Turbo timer, gauges, etc. I intend to pick up a junkyard GE for less than $200 and...

Ya think? That's what I've been going back and forth trying to decide. Not to derail your thread, but it seems like if I'm going to end up resealing an engine and going single anyway, it might as...

Obligatory "Do a search, lazy!"

Of course the engine options that were available in that chassis from the factory will be easiest (JZ series). Anything is possible with the right motor mounts,...

Engine harness/ECU socket question

In all my research so far, I haven't seen this one answered, so apologies if it's dumb. Is the plug for the engine harness to the ECU the same between 300 and 400 cars? For example, if you plugged...

I personally think pinstripes are one of the worst things you can put on a car, and they NEVER look good. Getting rid of the stupid pinstripes was a good part of why I repainted my whole car, I hate...

Do not reset the odometer just because it has a new motor. The car itself still has the mileage indicated and trying to pass it off as anything else is odometer fraud.

Also, welcome to CL. Did you...

Lol, looking at it, 27.5 is almost sad compared to my daily driver Jetta TDI, which gets 46mpg mixed driving pretty much all the time. Still, for something as large as the SC, high 20s isn't bad.
