I did get an alignment and it was done by the Lexus dealer, they didn't mention anything to me. That being said, before it was aligned, the steering was really off, but the noise wasn't that bad....

Replace the struts, ours did the same thing until they were replaced. Because the struts don't have enough power to lift the door, it believes there is something getting in the way and auto closes.
