Why would you think that? There was an IS-F and it was over 3,800 lbs. The current IS F Sport is ~3,600 lbs with a V6, so dropping in a V8 is going to add to that. And I'm pretty sure the 467 hp...

I hear you, but I'm not really interested any of that. I live in south Florida.... there are no corners. And I'm not planning to track my car. I just want a GS with more power (i.e. a redux of...

I think your estimate seems reasonable/logical. As far as whether I would pick one up....My problem will be the timing. My current lease is up in Feb 2016 when the GS-F will still be relatively...

That would be unfortunate. If that ends up being the case, I guess the good news for future GS-F owners is that their vehicle will be "rare".

A 550i starts at $64.9K. So you can can get a nicely equipped 550i in the mid-70's. It won't be loaded, but it won't be a "base with absolutely no options".

It's also going to depend on how they price it. If it's in the low- to mid-70's nicely equipped, it could be interesting. If it's mid-80's nicely equipped (as some in this thread have suggested),...

Start up messages obscuring top ~20% of backup camera screen

Does anyone else find that the start up messages take way too long to clear, during which time they obscure the top section of the backup camera? I first get "phone connection successful..."...

So did BMW until 2007. Now I'm not sure if they even offer a non-FI engine. Lexus/Toyota are going to have to turn to forced induction if they want to remain competitive. BMW, MB, Audi, and...

I'm in the same boat. Love my GS, but it really needs more power. My lease is up in Feb 2016, so hopefully by then there will be a more powerful GS option. Otherwise, I'll switch to a 550i or...

I don't know how Audi does it. I cross shopped the A6 3.0T with the GS and it was a 50% per month premium. And that was after they tried to close the gap with the Lexus monthly payment. The sales...

Yes because at the top of the list of what women want in cars is a 6 speed manual or dual-clutch transmission, top speed of nearly 180 mph, 340 hp in a ~3000 lb car that...

I find it interesting that someone who drives the most popular luxury brand for women (Lexus by a fairly wide margin), would sling "chick car" insults at a company that sells ~80% of its cars to men....

Yeah really. A ~4.0 second 0-60 time, nearly 180 mph top speed, quarter mile in the 12's, and best handling car in the porsche line up is a "chick car". I'd hate to see the chicks you guys hang out...

North of 4500 RPMs. Below that it's relatively weak. If you need "right now" power, you can switch to manual mode.

+1. And first gear appears to be tuned more for fuel economy than performance. The power does kick in nicely at higher RPMs -- flooring it at ~40mph will downshift into 2nd gear (I assume) at...

That's my fear too. I don't want an M5 competitor, I want a 550i competitor. I love everything about my GS except the relative lack of power. I'd gladly pay a premium for a v8 (or turbo v6) GS...

Yeah, I agree there are other reasons to buy a hybrid GS, but cost savings is not one of them (except maybe in some extreme cases of crazy high mileage, but in those scenarios I think the battery...

JMO, but I wouldn't buy a 450h for the gas savings (at least from a purely financial standpoint) unless you drive a crazy amount of miles per year. At 12K miles per year, assuming $4.00/gallon gas,...

For me it depends on what Lexus does with the engine options for the GS. I love my GS, but it needs more power. If the only option for the GS is the current V6 engine, I'll probably go with a BMW...
