Yes, the fender shaving is a easy way to add additional clearance. Also suggest applying some weather coating/sealer to the bare metal to keep it from rusting.

Yup. The thought behind that is amusing though. To have that much positive camber the fenders would require equal amount of work for clearance, a flush positive look. Imagine if it was aired up. :p

My suggestion would be to have your current set...

My suggestion would be to have your current set rebuilt with the density foam that is comfortable. That has the least amount of issues as far as the seat mounts, wiring or dimensional allowances.
