Ha, only if it was walter white's :)

I ended up going back to my roots and picking up a GTI. Not a traditional/common trade for a GX. FWIW, I had the orig lexus dealer appraise it before I went...

Hey guys,
After 7 years and nearly 100k trouble free miles, I traded the GX in on another vehicle over the weekend.

It was a great truck, and I really appreciated the camaraderie and knowledge...

Thanks Chip. Just FWIW, I did this and was able to skip steps 3, 4 and 5. I was able to get enough access to R&R the sensor this way. Just something to try if folks want to streamline.

Great data point. I'm still waiting on my Bilstein HD 4600 shocks -- backordered.

Did you happen to measure the compressed & extended lengths of the OE shocks and the replacements?

Not to darken your day, but have you checked the mileage w/a calculator, or are you going by the trip computer?

Seems the trip computer is about 10% optimistic on mine :(

EDIT: I just read the initial post in the thread, where he's asking about a 2004. Though I'd enjoy learning more about our engines and octane requirements, the point is moot for '04s, no? Clearly OK...

This is one where I'd say we can't really know better than the engineers.

My '07 says "Premium Unleaded Fuel Only" under the gas cap. That's un-ambiguous.

The owners manual says 91 octane or...

As one more data point, I went ahead and ordered a set of 4600s for mine last night. Will take some measurements relative to OEM when I install them.

A few points:
1) yes, all 4 corners are wired -- front struts & rear shocks.
2) front shocks are simple 4-position adjustable dampers and are not (based on what I've read) actively adjusted. They...

Try one more 10min experiment: un-plug your rear shocks. You can reach in there and do it without jacking up the truck. 10min tops. tuck the pigtails under something so they don't catch on anything....

You can easily reverse the order and bump up the rear ride height a bit. This will help, for sure. I've been there.

Skooch under the rear of the truck and see how much distance you have between...

Sounds like you're going to do new struts and shocks at a minimum? if so, I'd go ahead and replace the rear shocks with something like the Bilstein 5100s (or b6s) and see if the truck does a better...

I think you can get bilstein 5100s for the rear for far less than $220/ea.

I replaced mine w/OEM all-round about 30k ago and am regretting it. I'd like a bit more body control, and would like to...

Slight addition or tweak:

Our center diff is a torsen. IIRC it's a "type 2 torsen" but not sure. This is a torque biasing differential. Ours happens to have a default torque split of 40:60 F:R...

Try cycling the rear height full-up and then "normal" in the morning to see if it helps.

If so, I think the general consensus is:

* Oddly, the...
