Could be your transmission mount, or the dog bone mount on top of the engine. Could also be an engine mount.

Many of the aftermarket knock sensors are not compatible with our cars, even when they say that they are. So if the same knock sensor code comes back, have your mechanic replace the aftermarket one...

Not all codes are read by all scanners, only high end scanners can read transmission , ABS, SRS codes, and others for example.

thats why it's imperative to determine the cause for the Check Engine...

If the check engine light is ON than you have a code in Memory. The place you took it to may not have had a good scanner, or one that does not read all codes. Take it to someone that has a scanner...

Forgot to mention that the rivets holding it in could have rusted, or the whole thing is rusted out. If so, you can either pull it off or replace it. Most people just pull it off without replacing it.
