Is the GS300 v6 basically the same 1MZ engine with FSE Injection? The 1MZ is a solid Engine. My son has a 98 Avalon that is rough but 230k on it and runs good.

I'd say not the hp but the torque. GM put the 7.5" diff in cars that had 255 ft-lbs or torque and 3300 lbs, but when they got over 300, they went to the 8.5" diff.

Thanks, I'll start looking for OEM ones next, the original ones lasted 200k best I can tell, if they were original, but they did fail gradually.
