Don't throw parts at it. Find the problem and fix it. Does it change if the coils are disconnected? Can you hear any vacuum leaks? Take your time and check every thing before you buy parts.

Have them recheck the install on plugs and wires....

Have them recheck the install on plugs and wires. They had to remove them to change valve cover gaskets. They are responsible for any damage to the wires.

For the misfires I would take a look at the drivers side Ignition coil. The catalyst and misfire codes could be the result of the coil being bad.

I wonder if one of the wires got crossed on the pig tail for the IAC when you repaired it. I don't know if it's possible for it to operate that way, just a thought.
