Had mine replaced last year, same symptoms. 2.5hr is a good time for the job. You may get the alternator for less at Sewell Lexus with your CL discount. Maybe you can get the dealership to match it....

Interesting, my Lexus mechanic said it could be the alternator pulley because Lexus started using the same design as Chrysler, GM and FORD because it allows the alternator to freewheel and save gas...

Funny you should ask. My Lexus mechanic had to go next door to the alternator shop guy and he just so happened to have the bearings, IIRC it takes two bearings not one for the tensioner. Let me see...
