Your solution with the connector you are cutting the car's connector that plug into the Ballast. My solution, I leave that connector. So you see if need be, I just put that ballast back and plug...

Yes, our bulb is the D4S size. With HID there is no filament to "burn" so just switch it off and back on will turn the bulb...

Agree, fuel does affect it and the fuel grade too. I never had problems with regular field at costco, but now I do.

And I am not sure but I think a long drive also helps. Like 100 miles trip.

I'm skeptical with a metal cover one side like that. HID have full expose all sides. It's the housing focuses the light and direct it to the front.

I don't mind a fan if it's reliable as the PC...

I still don't think LED is getting there yet. Most important to me is the light throw, bright enough and far enough. LED just doesn't have the throw. LED vs HID (Xenon) vs Halogen - HEADLIGHTS...
